ie opacity dropdown menu

my question is about opacity and rounded corners

for curved corners for the dropdown menu to work in all browsers i have used http://code.google.com/p/curvycorners/downloads/list

1.
on hovering on Inspire me link and then on sub menu 1 link

in ie8 the sub dropdown= Dropdown1,2,3 works but the rounded corner at the bottom has a dark #ccc background color

in ie7 the sub dropdown does not appear but the rouded corner works

in ie 9 the sub dropdown works but rounded corner does not work

2.
for all browsers ie 7,8,9, firefox, chrome, safari and opera for the sub dropdown i do not want the opacity that i set for the top level list items which is being inherited
