Manually copying email files

Hi guys,

i ran into a little problem while migrating from another server to my own one. I would like to copy all the emails from the old ./cur folder to the new ./cur folder.

First i checked whether the whole structure looked similar, which it does – both servers have a cur directory in each mail dir. They also have a tmp and a new directory. The emails do not entirely look the same, but there is a similarity.

So i tried to copy a single email to see if that works, but unfortunately it does not. Sure, i can copy the file, but it won’t be recognized as an email in the inbox.

This is how the old ones look like:

1284310400.V904Ida07abM690105.localhost:2,S

And that is how the new ones look like:

1311418615.M826761P16793V0000000000000902I00000000 01DDA465.cranium.myhost.com,S=679:2,S

Can anybody help me out and tell me how to properly accomplish the task of migrating those emails? I know i could add both accounts to Thunderbird and just move the emails, but that takes way too long and is way too slow if i do it with all of my customer’s mailboxes.

Thank You & Best regards,
Leonidas
